Connecting the Dots...
My journey into Product Management has quite an unusual start, I remember it was 2013 and my mum never was a fan of the ‘Pocket Money’ Concept (she still isn’t), ergo for my daily commute to Engineering School pretty much on the other side of the city of Mumbai, she often handed me $0.50.
To be frank, $0.50 was only sufficient for a Sandwich, forget the soda. It was nearly impossible to do anything with friends post my CS classes, my mum knew this very well and thus stuck with my daily limit of $0.50 for the next 4 years.
I knew asking more was not an option.
During my breaks from classes, I often spent a lot of time on YouTube, watching reruns of MasterChef Australia and always ended up drooling over the desserts that featured on the show. Naturally, the next logical step for me was to find videos on YouTube that would dive down deep into the nitty-gritty of dessert making, specifically baking and confectionery making.
YouTube became my rabbit hole and I never knew how time flew by, the algorithm at YouTube did a great job at keeping me occupied for hours and soon I knew I had to take this to the next step, Experimenting in the kitchen.
My first Cake was an absolute failure 🥺 and my mum’s kitchen an absolute disaster 😰 Over the next 4 weeks I tinkered with various recipes and actively contributed to Increasing everyone’s sugar intake! LOL 😂 but also made some great progress with entirely falling in love with the process of cake baking.
